Tuesday October 8,2013 - Former Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula’s woes are far from over, after Bungoma High Court Judge, Francis Gikonyo, wrote to the Director of Public Prosecutions(DPP) asking him to open criminal charges on Wetangula over electoral malpractice. In a letter written on September 30, Judge Francis Gikonyo said Wetangula who is also one of the CORD luminaries committed an electoral offence by “treating voters” during the March 4th elections. Gikonyo said he nullified Wetangula’s elections due to an election malpractice and requested the office of DPP to open new charges on Wetangula. This is big blow to Coalition for Reforms and Democracy and Wetangula since he will not be able to contest the Bungoma seat which he lost after the High Court nullified his election last week. Some CORD operatives are already furious about this latest turn of events saying this plot by Jubilee operatives will cause a major trouble in an already divided nation. Wetangula faces five years imprisonment if he is found guilty.
