Tuesday PM Update: Winter storm watch posted for for all of CT for Thursday AM until Friday AM Hi everyone, I wanted to take a look at the latest data before issuing an update. This storm is gaining LOTS of attention, because of its impacts all the way to the deep south. Here is what is in the cards for us. It is looking like a burst of snow is in here for the Thursday morning commute. Snow becomes heavy through the day, but likely changes over SE Coast. How far west does the mix line go? That is the question, could make it as far west as Hartford, cutting down on Accumulations (although accumulations would still be significant). We could go back to snow before wrapping up on Thursday night into Friday morning. There will also be an area of icing to add into the mix. This will likely be a longer storm than the last one, but its looking pretty similar in nature.. however, we wont have as much cold air in place or a cold high anchored just so to the north. MANY variables we are looking over. Snowfall amounts? They could be anywhere from a few slushy inches SE coast to up to a foot in the hills, in between somewhere in the middle looks likely. Well continue to look over the data and keep you posted. Start time AM Commute Thursday, Ending: Sometime overnight Thursday night into Early Friday AM. Air travel looks heavily impacted because of the duration and the reach back into the busy airport (like ATL). If you have travel plans by air, plan on disruptions. Those are the facts as I have them, I dont forecast school closings so I cant help you there. Stay with the NBC CONNECTICUT forecast team, well keep you posted. Ill have more updates right here. If you like my posts, please share them and encourage your friends to like my page so my updates make it into their newsfeeds. Thanks!
