Tuesday Travel trips This weeks travel tip comes from my friend Janie Rebaleati She sent me a story about a lady that had one letter missed on her booking and ended up in the wrong city in the wrong country. When I was new to the travel industry my manager was from Australia - She was bold, outspoken and made the working environment fun. I worked in Oxnard, Ca (woo hoo to the Cali peeps) We had a lot of Hispanic clientele who did not speak a lot of English. Mix this with an Aussie who spoke funny English (sorry Ian and Mary) and mistakes can be made. My daughter now lives in Durango Colorado. This is where my manager sent this nice little lady- My manager had no idea there was a Durango Mexico! Needless to say this poor abuela (grandmother) ended up in Colorado instead of Mexico. Eventually she landed in the right place but it was panic for a bit- Do you remember a few years ago a young man wanting to go to Oakland ended up in Auckland! A slight different in pronunciation ! Make sure you end up in the right place - Every airport has a 3 letter code to identify the airport- Make sore you know your code- it will be on your boarding pass and your luggage Have fun and enjoy your trip to Paris France - not Texas ...........
