Tuesday toddler tactic: Bath time magic If your little one is resistant to bath time try some of these ideas to make bath time a fun experience. Pretend there are fairies in your bathroom. If there is fairy dust around the bathtub your toddler might believe you. Sprinkle some glitter around the rim of the bath when you are filling the tub, then call your little one in to look for the fairies. A magic coloured bath can encourage children to get down and dirt-free. Add a few drops of food colouring to the water. If you need to bath two kids together, you can be sure they will each choose different colours. No problem! Let them watch as Sarah’s red colour mixes with Jack’s yellow colour and see what happens. Let your little ones body paint with coloured shaving foam (add a few drops of food colour to the shaving foam). You can also buy bath crayons for drawing on little bodies in the bath – it simply washes off! And if you want an under the sea experience buy coloured light bulbs in blue or green and put them in the bathroom. In the name of water conservation and happy children you can also share a bath or shower with your child, you might find it relaxes you too.
