Tuesdays car renting lesson is on LDW. What is LDW? That is LOSS DAMAGE WAIVER. When you purchase this with your rental, the entire cost of the vehicle is covered for damage, theft or whatever can happen as long as the terms of the contract are not violated. The fee ranges from 14 to 20 dollars per day depending on the rental. BUT there is no deductible, your personal insurance is never involved. You will not be charged for loss of use, nor diminished value. These last two are real charges and they are collectible if you do not purchase LDW. As the holidays approach and you consider a rental, also consider purchasing LDW and leave your worries out in the cold.
