Tullysaran Senior Football Tullysaran 3-08 Collegeland 1-06 Well done to our senior team with a comprehensive win at home on Friday night. After getting a great start with two goals from K. Corrigan in the opening four minutes, Tullysaran failed to build on this and only managed to add two further points for the rest of the half. During this time Collegeland dominated the exchanges for long periods, but were very wasteful in front of goals. Their tally of three points was a very poor return for their attacking efforts. Highlight of the half and indeed the entire game was the brilliant performance of full back M. Donnelly who beat his opponent on every occasion with his great anticipation and tackling. Half time score Tullysaran 2-02 Collegeland 0-03 Three good points from play immediately after half time, two from K. Corrigan and one from R. Conlon saw the home team play some very good football where the defence were very much on top of their immediate opponents. D. McCurry, A. Conlon and R. Conlon continually pushed forward and with B. Kelly gaining lots of loose possession in mid field, the forwards were availing of a good supply of ball. M. Kernan, as always made himself available in the inside line and was rewarded with a goal and one point from play. Once again R. Conlon pushed forward to score a great point while T. Lardner who did a lot of good work in the half forward line helped himself to a point from play. Another to really impress was A. Mallon who continually found lots of space and gained possession whilst feeding it to a team mate in a better attacking position. The visiting team had added two points, and while the game had been more or less decided, their old reliable B. McGeary finished the game with a well taken goal. A score of 3-08 would win a lot of matches, but this win was against a very out of sorts Collegeland team who never really appeared to get going in this game. All the team made a great effort from start to finish and showed good levels of fitness and stamina on a very warm evening. It was good to see the return of C. Mullen to the team after injury and hopefully K. Corrigan will make a speedy recovery after his injury. Team; P. McGlone C. Wallace M. Donnelly D. McCurry R. Conlon A. Conlon M. O’Neill B. Kelly J.
