Turkey trot race report. So we had a bit of a rocky start (I will leave it to Derek to tell that part of the story 😭) but we got to the start in the end. I bumped into Gordon who had just completed the 5km race. Gordon decided to accompany me for my race....who else gets to have a personal pace maker?! Well I started off like a bandit but man can I not be in control of pace for short events! 3km I was telling Gordon to leave me behind like a hero in an action movie...certain part wished he had but he stuck with me as i wheezed my way around. Ended up with a PB and shaved a minute off my Strathaven time so considering how I have not run much this month at all it was a miracle. I wanted to puke a lot, I wanted to push Gordon over everytime he told me we were almost there but I did it and then we got cake. Then Nicola fed me truffles and bounty balls so it was an awesome day. Bring on the training!
