Turns out Im not the only one to notice that Nancy Skinner is - TopicsExpress

Turns out Im not the only one to notice that Nancy Skinner is running an MI-11 campaign thats almost 100% negative. Skinner and her surrogate Herb Helzer keep saying its not negative campaigning if you are telling the truth, betraying the fact that they have absolutely no idea whatsoever what negative campaigning really means. The ironic part is that I share most of Skinners progressive values. The problem for her, and for Democrats in the 11th District, is that most 11th District voters DONT. That, in my opinion, makes her unelectable. Im too pragmatic to support someone who will never be elected. I also have a very difficult time supporting any Democratic candidate who runs a campaign based only on negative attacks against her fellow Democrats. I hate it. Heres Jack Lessenberry from Michigan Radio who shares my view: [I]n the final days before Michigan’s statewide primary, two things have depressed me about this year’s campaign. One is the amount of money involved, and I’ll talk about that later. But the other is the below the belt tactics. Take the Democratic race for the congressional nomination in the 11th district. Eight years ago, former radio talk show host Nancy Skinner ran for Congress in another district. She lost, but did better than expected. She was then given a job as chief of staff to First Gentleman Dan Mulhern, which struck me as a frivolous waste of taxpayer money. This year, Skinner resurfaced and jumped into the 11th district race. Since then, she has run an almost entirely negative campaign, bombarding me with e-mails hinting that one of her opponents is really a Republican and another a secret CIA agent. When I told her I would be more impressed if she explained why someone should vote for her, she said she had to save the world from climate change, and then went on to rant that her opponents were liars and were trying to buy the election.
