Turpin Heritage Farms is a local farm here in Georgetown Texas - TopicsExpress

Turpin Heritage Farms is a local farm here in Georgetown Texas that a lot of you know that we used for almost a year (8 months I think) , nearly exclusively, to provide all of our produce and herbs. I have never met two more dedicated farmers from a philosophical standpoint who could back the rhetoric with work ethic and ethic in general. Sadly we were unable to continue to work with them as our and their focus began to change in a way that was not advantageous to the relationship that we had fostered. They now focus on providing their amazing produce to the people exclusively. So it is for this reason that you have not seen the “Turpin Salad” on the menu since May. However we have continued to thank them on our menu as they were instrumental in our getting to the point that we could execute a primarily locally sourced menu. Furthermore, I have wanted to thank them for what they do for the farm to table movement in this area, even and maybe particularly if the tables are not ours but yours. It was brought to my attention that there presence on our menu could be misleading and so I felt a need to clarify; we love their farm, we do not use their products on our menu any longer though we continue to provide nearly an entirely local menu. We would like to thank the other 10 to 15 farms that we currently use but this is not the time or place for that list. For that you must come in to The Hollow and while eating dinner take a look at the list that has and always will appear on our daily menus. I apologize if there were any misunderstandings or if it was felt that we mislead anyone as we most assuredly did not intend to. Good luck out there farmers and foodies, eat well, cook well and live well. Chef Jacob
