Twelfth Station: Jesus, You die on the cross We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You; Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world. If God is for us, who can be against us? Is it possible that he who did not spare his own Son but handed him over for the sake of us all will not grant us all things besides. (Rom 8:31) It was for this you were called, since Christ suffered for you in just this way and left you an example, to have you follow in his footsteps. He did not wrong; no deceit was found in his mouth. When he was insulted, he returned no insult. When he was made to suffer, he did not counter with threats. Instead, he delivered himself up to the one who judges justly. In his own body he brought your own sins to the cross, so that all of us, dead to sin, could live in accord with Gods will. By his wounds you were healed. At one time you were straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the shepherd, the guardian of your souls. (1Pt 2:21-25) ... he humbled himself becoming obedient to death, even to death on a cross. (Phil 2:8) Near the cross of Jesus there stood his mother Mary. (Jn 19:25) My Jesus, look where love for us and obedience to the Father has brought You. Who of us will ever fathom Your love? So thank you for having loved us so much that we cannot even understand it. Let Your pierced heart be salvation for us all. I want to be an answer to Your love. I kneel before Your cross, and want to hear and to listen to Your word with love. Let it enter into my heart as it did into the heart of Your Mother Mary who had strength enough to stand by Your cross. Heavenly Father, thank you for having entrusted Your Son Jesus Christ with such a commission. Thank you for His having accomplished it even unto His death on the cross. Thank you for having accepted His prayer to forgive us. I also forgive all those who have insulted me. I pray to You for all those who do not forgive yet. Let Your mercy and the suffering of Your Son stir them to forgive so that peace may come to all men. Mary, it was not easy for you to understand the Fathers will, but you accepted it along with Your Son. Thank you for having accepted us as your children. John, thank you for having accepted Mary in the name of all of us, and for having in that way expressed to her gratitude in our name. And thank you, Mary, for the next call: Dear children! I want to tell you that the cross is central these days. Pray especially before the cross, from which great graces come. Now make a special devotion to the cross in you homes. Promise that you will not offend Jesus on the cross and inflict insults on him. Thank you for having responded to my call. (September 12, 1985) Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death Amen. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
