Twenty Five years ago, in a muddied Aranguez Savannah, Trinidad and Tobago saw the Dawn of a new Era. The United National Congress was born. Since then, our great party has always been a beacon of hope for the people of our beloved twin island republic. In just 25 short years, our party has grown tremendously from strength to strength. To date, the UNC remains a force to be reckoned with. On this the Silver Jubilee of our great party, I wish to humbly pay tribute to the founding fathers of the UNC for their vision and political will to step up to the plate and make a difference. To Mr. Basdeo Panday, thank you for your contribution, your vision and foresight and to our Political Leader, Mrs. Kamla Persad Bissessar you have taken us to great heights and continue to do so. Your strength gives us all hope for a brighter tomorrow and I have every confidence that together, we can overcome anything. Long live the UNC!
