Twenty-five years ago the leaders of world (such as M. Thatcher or F. Mitterrand) were openly expressing their fears that a unified Germany might lead to the destabilization of the European political and economic landscape but, as it turned out, Germany was busy with the reconstruction of its own political and economic landscape. Although Germany was involved in international policy making, the focus was more on what was going on within and not outside the borders of the country. That, in turn, led to the the development of German economy which, twenty-five years later, is the strongest and most stable in the world. Do you agree?
