Twenty seven years ago today I had known baby number two was going to be here in June 1987 for about a week. I was happy and terrified at the same time. Valarie was 10 1/2 months old. I was at work in the CCU at The Medical Center. I began having terrible stomach pains-- was sent to the ER and then home with a stomach virus. But it wasnt. At 7pm baby number two was not to be. Her name (I only believed it to be a girl, I wasnt wrong either of the other times) would have been Amanda Renee. I still wonder what that child would have been like. Had it not been for Gods grace and the friends He placed in my life then, I dont know how Id have made it through! I will never forget Ann Booth (a co-worker and friend) helping me through that. And the gift of the book Empty Arms that also helped me. In fact, that book helped me deal with that loss so much I shared it with Ricks cousin when she lost her first child.
