Two Hunter researchers have received significant accolades for their work into improving the health of indigenous communities. Nikki Turner received the Gail May Award at the 2014 NSW Aboriginal Health Awards for her work in encouraging nutritious eating, physical activity and healthy weight for indigenous children. Dr Kym Rae also received Kidney Health Australia’s Operation Angel Award for her dedication to kidney health research in Indigenous Australians.
