Two arrest, Rs.24 lakh gold recovered Kakinada, August 8Waradhi Telugu Daily): The Kakinada crime police have successfully nabbed two criminals –both ex-convicts and recovered from them Rs.24 lakhs worth of gold ornaments pertaining to thefts in households in and around Kakinada .Some ornaments recovered pertains to cases registered with neighbouring Yanam police and also Saniivanagar police station, Hyderabad. Briefing the details of the property recovered at a press conference here today, the SP Sivasankara reddy said that one of the accused Vanka Rajkumar alias Babi(25) hails from Jallavaripet in Thallarevu mandal was arrested while trying to dispose of the stolen property near Kulayi cheruvu area in Kakinada .He was an ex-convict and released on bail after three year imprisonment in February. He has committed thefts in six houses during last five months period .Gold ornaments weighing 311 grams were recovered from his possession. The other accused Vadrevu Raju alias Pittala Raju (27) a native of Giryampet in Yanam now residing in Jagannadhapuram here. He was arrested in the morning near Balaji cheruvu center and recovered 490 grams of gold jewelry from his residence. He was involved in 28 cases and released on bail in October last after undergoing two and half years of imprisonment. Besides gold ornaments a motor cycle was also recovered from him .Both are being produced before the court for remanding, he added. Complimenting the Crime wing Inspector Rambabu and his staff for the good work done, the SP has presented cash incentives to five crime wing constables who played a key role in the property recovery .
