Two down, many kittens yet to go. Mama Fern and Lady Corniche were safely admitted to Tree Houses Uptown facility today to find their forever homes. Not without some drama at the very end, however. Lady Corniche tried to chew her way out out of her cardboard carrier in the short ride between the Manor here and Tree House, leaving a gaping hole almost big enough to push her head out the side of the carrier, and Mama Fern after making me return home once because she burst out the sides of the first cardboard carrier in the car, then proceeded to be OK all the way to Carmen Avenue by Tree House where I parked my Zipcar, only to have her barf big-time in the carrier right as I turned the engine off! I told the shelter staff they should rename her Miss Tuna-butt because she of course sat right down in her barf on the way in. I was mortified that my otherwise perfect-appearing calico debutante would lower herself to such a degree for her big presentation at TH. Lady Corniche on the other hand, aside from almost succeeding in chewing her way out of the carrier en route, lived up to her upper-class name once we arrived there and was a perfect angel. Miss Tuna-butt Fern, however, wanted to explore everything in the exam room while we waited for the Clinic staff, showing off her true stray girl cat roots in trying to make a mess of everything. Oy...
