Two individuals arrested near Walmart at Corbin: Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Shawn Boroviak arrested two individuals at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County early Thursday morning, July 31, 2014 at approximately 4 AM. The arrests were the result of Walmarts loss prevention team detaining a female subject who had allegedly shoplifted several items in Walmarts store. When Deputy Boroviak arrived at the scene to investigate, he determined that this subject was under the influence and was a danger to herself and others. In addition, through investigation, it was learned that this subject was wanted on numerous arrest warrants. Arrested was Rebecca Grubb age 25 Of Main St., Corbin charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting and public intoxication – controlled substances. In addition, it was determined that this subject was wanted on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for flagrant nonsupport – owing arrearage of more than $8000. This subject was also wanted in Whitley County for failure to appear in court, and had 2 bench warrants of arrest from Knox County for failure to appear in court. Also arrested nearby pumping gasoline into a black Cadillac Eldorado was Derrick Grubb age 28 of Grubb Cemetery road, Hinkle . An investigation conducted on this subject determined that he was under the influence and was a danger to himself and others. This subject was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances, possession of controlled substances, third degree, and prescription controlled substances not in proper container, second offense.
