Two of the most influential finger picking guitarist in history - TopicsExpress

Two of the most influential finger picking guitarist in history are Chet Atkins and Paul Yandell. I had the opportunity to meet Chet a couple of times, but only for a brief moment. The first time I ever met Paul was at CAAS in the early 90s and he was playing an octobass, after the show, I went to ask him about it. He stopped what he was doing and took the time to talk to a dumb kid. Later in years I started recording CDs, and one day I had decided to send him one of my CDs. I will never forget receiving an email from Paul, and he was complimenting my playing and sound. After that he and I would email from time to time. On one email Paul graciously said I was a great player. Wow, what a compliment coming from a legend, I am sure he was just being nice. I regret that I never got to know him outside of emails, I wish I could have pick a song with him. But I wrote this song, Remembering Paul which will be on my new CD Thumb Prints She doesnt know it yet, but Thumb Prints is dedicated to a wonderful lady, Mrs Marie Yandell. This CD is for you Mrs Yandell.
