Type II Diabetes or better known as Insulin Resistance is on the rise. Unlike type one diabetes where the pancreas is damaged or destroyed and no longer produces insulin, in type II diabetes the cells of the body develop resistance to insulin, so the pancreas produces more insulin in order to overcome the cells resistance. When you see your glucose numbers high on blood test readings this could be a possibility. All that delicious bread, bagels, sugary cereals, soda and a host of other high glycemic index foods are the culprit, it takes years but then wham! And you may find yourself asking what happened, well thats what happened, SUGAR.
