Typical its half term and the weather is wet. Check out some entertaining #fun #learning activities you can do with your toddlers. Pitta bread pizzas: These are so simple to make, you can add any toppings and they just take minutes to cook! Be as creative as you like, guaranteed they will love them! Pitta breads big or small pockets Tomato puree or pizza topping grated cheese peppers sweetcorn ham sausage The list is endless, place under the grill until the cheese has melted, or pop in the oven for 8 mins on a low heat. Letters on pebbles: Small bag of pebbles ( B&Q or a garden centre) Permanent marker pen Encourage letter recognition, matching the same letter, making up simple words, or hide the pebbles around the house or the garden and they have to find 2 the same. So many ways to encourage phonic sounds and simple words. Number game: Cheerios straws or dry spaghetti plasticine bowls (4) Card with numbers written on Fill the small bows with cheerios. Push the straw into the plasticine so the straw stands up. Next to each straw make up a number card with the same amount of dots written on them.Encourage the children to either recognise the number or count the dots, then count out the right amount of cheerios and pop onto their straws. This activity is great for number recognition, fine motor skills and using wording such as big and small, adding and take away, this activity has so many learning intentions.
