U. R. G. E . N. T. Members of the ULSTER REGIONAL GANG ENFORCEMENT NARCOTICS TEAM (U.R.G.E.N.T.) report the arrest of a Kingston man subsequent to a drug sales investigation. Members of URGENT received intelligence in regard to a male selling crack cocaine in the Kingston area. URGENT initiated an investigation and purchased crack cocaine from the man later identified as Daniel Shade. Members of URGENT obtained an arrest warrant for Shade. Shade was taken into custody Friday afternoon by members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office subsequent to a warrant check at the Ulster County Department of Social Services in the Town of Ulster. Shade was arrested, transported to the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center and charged with: Daniel Edward Shade, 47, of Downs Street, Kingston • Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, a class B felony (crack cocaine) • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, a class B felony (intent to sell) Shade was arraigned in Town of Hurley Justice Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail. The following agencies have members assigned to URGENT: Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, Ulster County District Attorney’s Office, Town of Woodstock Police, Town of Lloyd Police, Town of Shandaken Police, Ulster County Probation, Town of Plattekill Police, Town of New Paltz Police and United States Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
