U.S. Census Bureau Releases Revised Schedule for Economic Data ========================================== The U.S. Census Bureau on Monday said it would release its delayed retail-sales report on Oct. 29, more than two weeks after the originally scheduled date. The agency, a part of the Commerce Department, said it would resume publication of economic data halted by the government shutdown with the release this week of reports on construction spending and international trade. The Census Bureau, alongside other government agencies, collects, analyzes and publishes an array of data used to track the countrys economic performance. Closely watched reports covering September had been on hold since the partial shutdown started Oct. 1. The agency said it would publish the August construction spending report, originally set to be released Oct. 1, on Tuesday. The international trade report, originally due out Oct. 8, will follow on Thursday. Delays will be felt through November. For example, the report on October retail sales, initially due out Nov. 14, wont be released until Nov. 20. Other agencies continue to work on an updated release plan.
