U10’s Match report The Under 10 Tarrawanna juniors travelled to Oak Flats and were eager to begin. Four subs were seated on the sideline and Kalib on the reserve bench. The Oak Flats purple U10’s were challenging us from the start. They had good passing skills and kept the ball moving. They score a great goal with their number 10. An unusual position for the Tarrawanna U10’s as they looked to Sam to find out what to do. Our kick off … oh, that’s right, in the middle. Houston was fantastic in goals stopping two more attempts…and Tarra strikers were applying pressure at the other end. Then, Lachlan cleared the ball from a possible attack and put us into attack. Two close misses and the crowd roared with desperate oh’s and awes. With Hayden holding position at right wing and Tim moving up the left wing we were set for another attempt at goal. The team played on until number 10 scored again. What… Tarra needed to put the ball into the back of the net. Just with that thought, Hooray! Kane scored. Jake turned and weaved the ball past three defenders, passing beautifully to the centre where William saw Oscar open. But, Oak Flats defended and cleared the ball. With confidence increasing and the ball less than 5 meters from the Oak Flats goalie we were sure to level the score going into half time…but what! the referee blew his whistle. Half time and Joseph moved into goals. With fearless determination he watched the ball like a hawk and saved three goals. The players and crowd were excited. Houston moved forward and took on two defenders to score a well deserved goal. The score now close at 3-2 we could smell the possibilities. Charlotte took on a midfielder, got the ball and passed to Tim, it was on. Isaac assisted, passed to Kane, and then to Houston … Score!!!! Even at 3-3 and almost time. We had two minutes to go. Ali held strong with consistent defence, Hayden was reliability in position ready to cross into the middle, Tim kept moving the ball forward, Jake’s fantastic midfield ball control dazzled the defenders and Oscar’s awesome passing kept the score tight . What a match, both teams were very evenly matched and Tarrawanna U10’s are to be congratulated on their perseverance when down and improved skills. Full time and a 3 all draw. Most improved to Lachlan. Team player to Joseph. Report by Kylee (manager)
