The Mobile Police Base located in Essien Udim will tomorrow, Monday, the 27th day of October, be relocated to Uyo the state temporarily as part of efforts to prevent the court from serving an injunction to the state chapter of the PDP ordering the party to maintain the status quo and consequently shelve its planned swearing-in of new chapter chairmen. The Guide Newspaper gathered on good authority that theplanned swearing-in of new chapter chairmen by the Obong Paul Ekpo-led Akwa Ibom PDP which is scheduled to hold tomorrow(Monday) morning by 7am was hastily devised as a scheme to immediately filled the forced ouster of Messrs Friday Udoh and Sunny Ibanga as Chairmen of Essien Udim and Ikot Ekpene chapters of the PDP respectively. Irked by what he perceived to be a carefully mapped out strategy to dethrone him as the chapter chairman of the PDP in Ikot Ekpene, Chief Sunny Ibanga had immediately issued a Press Release maintaining that he remains the authentic chairman of the party in Ikot Ekpene, adding that he is not aware of any appointment to holda traditional position, as claimed by Obong Paul Ekpo in the news release which was aired by the government-owned broadcast station - AKBC. The Guide Newspaper also learnt that Chief Sunny Ibanga was seriously considering exploring the introduction of a legal angle to the controversy as he is said to have already begun talks with his lawyer to file an injunction that will prevail on the state PDP to maintain the status quo ante bellum, and continue to recognize Chief Sunny Ibanga as the chairman of the PDP in Ikot Ekpene. However, sensing the possibility of institution of court case on the controversy, Governor Godswill Akpabio who is now on pilgrimage in Israel in the company of President Jonathan, has consequently ordered the state chairman of the party, Obong Paul Ekpo to perform the swearing-in of the new chapter chairmen by 7am on Monday morning. It was gathered that in a bid to ensure that the court does not find its way to serve the injunction while the event is ongoing, a heavy detachment of Mobile Policemen from Ukana be moved to Uyo and stationed at the party secretariat along Nsikak Eduok Four Lanes, Uyo. The Guide Newspaper can authoritatively report that the face-off between Governor Akpabio and Chief Sunny Ibanga began when the governor realized that haunted Chapter Chairman was supporting the Gubernatorial aspiration of Gov Akpabios former deputy, Obong Nsima Ekere. The Chairman of the Essien Udim chapter of the PDP Mr Friday Udoh had etched his name on the Governors bad books when he went against the Governors orders that no other governorship aspirant, except Mr Udom Emmanuel should be allowed to consult the Essien Udim chapter of the party.
