UN admits Syrian opposition groups receive financial aid from some governments UN investigators admitted last wednesday, for the first time, that the armed opposition groups in Syria comit crimes against humanity. The UN Commision for Human Rights of the UN in Geneva, presented information confirming that various opposition groups detained and tortured civilian Kurds systematically in tha Al Rakka Province. According to the commision, chaired by the Brazilian diplomat Sergio Piheiro, there are evidences that the group Islamic Stat of Irak and Syria, Al Nusra Front, Ahrar al Sham Brigade and the Shaihid Walid Al Sukni Batallion have detention and torture centers. The acts committed by cited armed non government groups, in areas they controlled, against the population, supposes tortures and inhumane treatments and are war crimes and, in the context (of Al Rakka), crimes against humanity, affirmes the commision. It also accuses rebel group of forced recruitments of children. Furthermore, the commision points to the disputes among the armed opposition groups and that they lack a common strategy in their object of toppling the legitimate President of Syria, Bashar Al Assad. Also, the information recognises that one of the motives of the force of the groups close to Al Qaeda, that want to convert Syria into an Isalmic State, is the selective financial support from some governments, aluding to foreign interference from countries like the USA or the absolutist monarkies of th Gulf.
