UNICEF: the number of Palestinian children who have been killed by air strikes on Gaza is now more than the number of children killed in the 2008/09 and 2012 wars combined. Between 8 July and 5 August, at least 447 Palestinian children were reportedly killed. Of the 447 children, at least 305 or 68 percent were 12 years old or younger. The number of children who have been killed is so high because theres no safe space for children to go to in Gaza, as their homes are being destroyed amid constant shelling. The number of children who have lost their lives will continue to mount as more bodies are found in the rubble. There are also warnings that unexploded ammunition, lying around in the ruins of Gaza, is another threat to the safety of Palestinian children.
