UNITAR Hiroshima Partner of Excellence Award The UNITAR Hiroshima Office is pleased to announce, that in order to celebrate the dedicated and focused partners it collaborates with from around the globe, it is launching the UNITAR Hiroshima Partner of Excellence Award. To be bestowed annually, the Award targets individuals whose passion and commitment to quality learning make them stand out as true Partners of Excellence. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2014 Partners were nominated throughout the year, resulting in seven final candidates from 5 countries. Following deliberation by the selection commitee, the recipient of the inaugural award was announced as: Mr Musa Kamawi, of the Ministry of Finance of Afghanistan. MUSA KAMAWI Musa Kamawi holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from IMS Peshawar University, augmenting his undergraduate degree in Political Science. He currently acts as Human Resources Director at the Ministry of Finance in Afghanistan. He has acted as a UNITAR Hiroshima Honorary Faculty Member since 2011, assiting in the development of thh flagship Fellowship for Afghanistan Programme. Presentations delivered in this role have included those focused on the Role of Human Resources Management in the Public Sector, as well as those examining project implementation in Afghanistan, using real-world examples. Mr. Kamawi has delivered numerous training workshops and seminars, as well as mentoring and training professionals from both the private and public sectors. He has received a number of notable awards and certificates in the course of his professional career, including recognition from the Minsiter of Finance, and the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Mr Kamawi has developed several glossaries for the Fellowship Programme, and continues to be a strong supporter of UNITAR within the region. As recipient of this award, Mr Kamawi will work closer with the UNITAR Hiroshima Office in regards to partnership development and quality assurance frameworks regarding the activities of the Office in the region. His insight, and expertise will also assist the Hiroshima Office in the contextualisation of training within Afghanistan to the dynamic realities as they exist on the ground there. This, in turn, will allow for more targeted, and needs-based quality interventions by the Office to increase the indigenous capacity of the nation. The UNITAR Hiroshima office congratulates Mr Kamawi, and looks forward to working with him, as a true Partner of Excellence, into the future
