UPC assisted with a successful rescue today of 52 geese and 4 ducks in Woodland, California. Their pond had dried up and they were wandering the parched ground dehydrated and exposed to predators. Calls and e-mails to the city of Woodland from UPC supporters really made a difference! The city stepped up and helped with all-terrain vehicles and a crew of city workers. The rescue went smoothly with little stress to the geese. They are on their way to a new, safe home! Thanks to Carolina Waterfowl Rescue, Direct Action Everywhere, Hen Harbor and Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary for their help with this rescue effort.
