UPDATE (12:15pm) Air Tankers are being RELEASED from the fire and are returning to Chico, (T98) and Grass Valley, (T88). So that is good news that the forward spread of the fires has slowed down a lot. So things are looking up! Additionally you might hear on the scanner some unfamiliar engines or equipment identifiers. Because of the cooperative mutual aid agreements of the fire departments in the county and available resources from neighboring Cal FIRE UNITS, and the Plumas National Forest there are Move Up & Cover engines coming into the Oroville Area to fill in at the fire stations which were uncovered for a bit in response to these two fires. This is routinely done to make sure there is a reasonable level of coverage at fire stations for any new emergencies that may occur. FIRES IN OROVILLE AREA: Cal FIRE / BCFD / OROVILLE FD / El Medio FD /USFS - Plumas NF - Feather River Dist. units are currently working two vegetation fires east of Oroville. One is located off Oro Dam Blvd. East & Rusty Dusty Rd and the second Oro Dam Blvd. East & Limelight Way. Both fires are in the 5 acre plus or minus size at this time and additional resources have been requested for both incidents. This includes Air Attack, Air Tankers, and Copters. We will have more information as it comes available.
