UPDATE #3: Sunnyvale Dept. Public of Safety Capt. Jeffrey Plecque says a homicide suspect in a missing persons case was killed while public safety officers were serving a search warrant at his home and he allegedly pulled out a weapon when he heard knocks at the door. nbcbay/g7bbX6g UPDATE #2: A Sunnyvale Public Safety officer shot and killed a man while serving a search warrant at a house on Fair Oaks and Maude, NBC Bay Areas Bob Redell reports. Police say the scene has been stabilized. UPDATE: The lockdown has been lifted at Columbia Middle School, the school says. Police have confirmed this was an officer-involved shooting. #BREAKING: At least a dozen gunshot rounds were heard and a school was locked down in Sunnyvale this morning, according to witnesses at the scene. A dispatcher for the Sunnyvale Department of Safety wouldnt immediately confirm the police activity at Fair Oaks and Maude Avenue just before 9 a.m. But an NBC Bay Area reporter, who lives in the neighborhood, awoke to hear at least 12 gunshots. Many police and emergency vehicles swarmed the street. Columbia Middle School on Morse Avenue was locked down.
