UPDATE: Day 1 ride will begin on Tuesday, 25JUN13. We will be leaving 193 Wentzel Lane, Montgomery, PA at 0230 (2:30 a.m.) Tuesday morning. Reason is to beat the Beltway traffic and to arrive at Ft. Myer (Old Post Chapel) by 0700 hrs (7:30 a.m.). Ideally, please be at the address at 0200 so we can load and secure your equipment and over-nite bags and be ready to start our drive at 0230. If you are meeting us at Ft. Myer - please be sure to contact me to coordinate getting on post if you do not have a military I.D. The course/route will be to exit off of Ft. Myer and go around the Iwo Jima Monument and to enter onto the Custus Trail enroute to the Washington/Old Dominion Rails to Trails and ride toward Purcelville, VA. Looking forward to seeing everyone and to begin riding. Day 2 ride (Gettysburg) - We will meet at the Sleep Inn Hotel (1650 York Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325) at 0700 hrs (7:30 a.m. in the parking lot). We plan on moving out to the start location in Gettysburg at 0715 and be on site by 0800 hrs. We plan to begin pedaling at 0830 hrs. This ride will be a relaxing / educational ride to take in and explore the Battlefields of Gettysburg. Day 3 Ride (Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA) - We will meet at the Blue Mountain Track on Fort Indiantown Gap at 0730 hrs. We will begin our 28 mile ride in commemoration to the 28th. Infantry Division at 0830 hrs. We are planning to have SFC(ret) Ron Rosser - Medal of Honor Recipient at our location to meet and greet all of the participants. At the conclusion of this ride - we will convoy to Scranton/Dickson City. Toyota of Scranton has prepared a dinner at their dealership location for the riders/participants - tentatively scheduled for 1800 hrs (6:00 p.m.) Day 4 Ride (War Memorial Ride through the Carbondale/Scranton area) - We will meet at the 109th. Infantry Armory in Carbondale at 0730 hrs. We will begin our ride promptly at 0830 hrs since we have Law Enforcement support for this ride. We may be meeting earlier to accommodate the local news station coverage - we will begin riding at 0830 hrs. regardless. Day 5 ride - Mifflinburg to Lewisburg. We will meet at the Rails to Trails entrance (Near Mifflinburg Park) at 0700 hrs. We will begin to ride at 0800 hrs to ensure we arrive in Lewisburg prior to the 1000 start of the parade. We will be traveling on Rt. 45 (From Sheetz) directly to Lewisburg with the support and escort of Mifflinburg Police Department.
