UPDATE: GOCE Satellite Re-enters Between Antarctica and South America on Sunday Night ... Full story - theweatherspace/2013/11/11/goce-satellite-re-enters-between-antarctica-and-south-america-on-sunday-night/ The doomed GOCE satellite from the European Space Agency flew over Antarctica at 22:42 GMT and tracking stations did not acquire it across the Eastern United States. The window of re-entry had come and gone, and the re-entry was likely between Antarctica and South America, probably in the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean. This would mean that a pass over the Eastern USA would not happen. However, reports of an orange ball moving across the sky did come into TheWeatherSpace from West Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana, nothing was confirmed. Ground Stations across South America and the United States did not acquire the satellite on the predicted re-entry, therefore after the last signal across Antarctica, it likely went down in the estimated area of the Southwest Atlantic Ocean.
