UPDATE ON CAMPBELLS CREEK PRIMARY SCHOOL SECULAR STUDENT WELFARE - TopicsExpress

UPDATE ON CAMPBELLS CREEK PRIMARY SCHOOL SECULAR STUDENT WELFARE WORKER This week I caught up with Dhirendra, the parent from CCPS who I have been working with to save their secular student welfare officer, and who initiated their petition. Dhi presented the petition with 1500 names to their local MP, Lisa Chesters, last week. Lisa told Dhi that she was keen to keep the petition open to see if they could get even more signatures, so that she could keep up the pressure. Lisa also said she was going to see if other schools in her electorate might be interested in starting their own petitions and that she would present the CCPS petition to Shadow Education Minister, Kate Ellis, and table it in Parliament this week. She also expressed some optimism that a change in Victorian State government after the election might work in our favour. There is absolutely no way we would have got all those signatures without all of you, so thank you to everyone who signed and shared. I’ll re-post my blog with the link to the petition just in case anyone missed it last time. Plus, Karen Percy from the ABC 7.30 Report spent half a day at CCPS last week and is running a story (hopefully) tomorrow – Friday. And The Age is also running a story. This is Lisa tabling the petition with all your signatures in Parliament today. How awesome is that!? https://facebook/video.php?v=737809206305698&set=vb.352279091525380&type=2&theater
