UPDATE ON MALCOLM X EXPANSION PROJECT -- There are 15% in contracts worth $32 Million dollars awarded to Hispanic contractors and 11% of contracts worth $22 million dollars awarded to Black contractors. My question that I think is worth a major discussion on WVON is - Is $22 million dollars REALLY going to legitimate Black contractors and employees Black community workers? National Black Wall Street Chicago will shortly publish the list of those who are alleged Black contractors to stop the process used when you see a Black face at the head of these Black contractors yet we still do not see visible increases in Black people working even from the Black contractors. For instance, I just passed a Black contractors office on 75th & King Drive, and from looking at this office, its hard for me to believe that $7 Million dollars is going through this office for Black workers to be working on the Malcolm X expansion! There will also be a public protest on Thursday April 3rd at 9:00 AM at The City Colleges of Chicago protesting what The African American Contractors Association says are the lack of legitimate Black contractors. All I can do is provide the information and post it to our Black media and community and people can decide if its worth the public discussion. I think so.
