UPDATE ON MY GRANDSON, TY! . 14 days olds as of today, 1/3/14! Here are a few pictures that grandma took yesterday. Cell phones have to be cleaned with bleach wipes before being taken into the NICU so I had not taken any since he was transferred to Arkansas Childrens Hospital until yesterday. Mommy & Daddy had returned home for a few days due to a cold that mom had. Grandma & Grandpa Dittmann went and stayed with Ty from Wednesday until today when they returned. Grandma and grandpa both read bedtime stories to Ty each night since mom and dad werent there to do it. A few times that grandma read and talked to him, he tried to open his little eyes! Ty has been staying stable with only minor adjustments having to be made on the ventilator. The drain tube is still in place and after it falls out, they will have to watch and see if his bowels function properly. Please pray that everything heals properly and that he will have no problems with his bowels or feeding. Everyone is anxious for him to be able to take his moms breast milk again. In the few days he had been on it before surgery, he was gaining weight. This morning he weighed 1 lb. 12 oz. (only 3 oz. down from his birth weight)! Monday they do another brain scan to look at the brains bleeds. There have been no signs of any worsening of the bleeds and we are all praying that the bleeds stop and dont cause any serious disabilities. Ty has been a strong liitle guy and continues to fight to be here on earth with his family! Thank you all for continued prayers!
