UPDATE Regarding Alice Alice has now been transferred to a facility in Cedarburg, Wi. There she will get daily therapy to help rebuild her strength. She is closer to where her daughters live so they are able to visit her daily and she no longer will worry about them traveling the distance in snowy and icy roads. The less Alice has to worry about means she can better focus on her therapy and recovery. I must say that when I saw her last Sunday she looked so very frail and weak. The sadness in her eyes was so very overwhelming to see. We joked and before long I could see the fire of life coming back to those very same eyes that held such sadness. By Thursday I was amazed at the amount of improvement she had made. However, Alice sees these therapy sessions as baby steps....she is impatient with the little steps she needs to take...she wants to run. Her right arm has weakened considerably...she has difficulty lifting a 1lb weight. So she and I came up with the idea of coloring books. When she isnt doing the strength therapy for her arms she will be able to focus using that arm for coloring. Each day that she colors a new page she will be able to actually see the improvement she has made. She is still having some swelling of the left leg and foot....so her medications will keep being changed until they find the ones that will work for her. She will be able to start to wear a shoe on her right foot on the 20th...she had fractured her foot in September when she fell in her apartment. I would love to be there to see her eyes light up when they remove that walking boot for good. She is definitely gonna be one happy camper. Gonna miss not having her here for now....She truly is a very sweet person and a wonderful friend...but I just want her to focus on her recovery. So please continue to keep her in your prayers and thank you to all who have prayed for her.
