UPDATE: The TransCanada pipeline crews are working to find a gas leak near the Richland and Franklin Parish line. The company says they are using extreme caution while they close off their pipeline, and use a controlled-release method to empty the lines. Once the pipelines are clear, the crews can work to find the leak. TransCanada has three pipelines that run through the Burke - Piney Woods area of Richland and Franklin Parishes. TransCanada representatives say other companies have pipelines in this area, and it is still unclear which line is leaking. FRANKLIN PARISH, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Pipeline crews are working to find a gas leak in a small community south of Interstate 20 along the Richland-Franklin Parish line. Franklin Parish Sheriff Officials confirm that one house in the parish has been evacuated. Also Richland Parish Sheriff Lee Harrell confirms that 13 to 14 homes have been evacuated south of the Dunn area along the south border of the parish as a precaution. A gas company crew is being currently assembled to determine where the leak is, and which pipeline running through the area is responsible for the leak. Highway 132 is blocked in Franklin Parish between Pineywoods and Burke Roads.
