UPDATED bushfire information: Road and school closures and HSC advice Putty Road is closed between Colo Heights and Singleton due to a bushfire. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and delay non-essential travel in bushfire-affected areas. The following roads also remain closed due to bushfires: • Bells Line of Road in both directions between the Great Western Highway at Lithgow and Bilpin township • Darling Causeway in both directions between Bell and Mount Victoria • Buses are continuing to replace trains between Mount Victoria, Lithgow and Bathurst due to the bushfires and damage to rail infrastructure. Regular bus services in the Blue Mountains are also affected. In the Hunter, all northbound lanes on the M1 Pacific Motorway (F3) are still closed at Seahampton. The Board of Studies NSW will endeavour to provide the latest news on school closures where HSC examinations may be affected. Students in bushfire affected areas should contact their school principal before 9am in relation to morning exams, and after 11am for afternoon exams for advice on how to proceed. In some cases, schools may have already put arrangements into place for students to undertake exams at other locations. Students unable to attend their own school may go to any other high school to sit an exam, if it is safe to do so. Presiding officers are prepared to accommodate students from other schools where this occurs. Students who are unable to attend an examination due to a natural disaster are eligible to lodge an Illness/Misadventure appeal with the Board of Studies NSW. Safety is paramount and students should not attempt to reach an exam centre if it is unsafe to do so. Public transport may also be affected by bushfires. Arrangements can be made for students arriving late due to public transport delays to have the full examination time..
