URGENT -- 2 families; young kids. We are working to develop a support plan for two separate families who will need transitional shelter for the short-term. One family consists of a mom and two pre-teen boys plus a 6 year old girl. Another family consists of a mom, 2 year old, and a 2nd grader. All of the school-aged children attend FCPS schools. There is currently no room at the Frederick Community Action Agency Shelter, and both families have nowhere to go starting tonight. More details to come, including likely requests for a meal rotation, but we need to start with collecting funds for motel nights. I can meet folks this weekend. I have no additional details at this time. We need to determine the motel(s) that work best for these two families. Once theyre settled, we will likely be able to have donors pay the motel nights direct. Ed or I will share more details as we know them. Please PM me if you can donate, and I can meet you. Thanks. And remember, its a sunny Friday afternoon in Frederick County, and we have real children who are going to get off our school buses and have nowhere to sleep besides a car. Its been a big week of work and requests, and we need to keep at it.
