URHOBO AGENDA: UPU RE-ECHOES SOLID UNITY AND THE DESIRE TO PRODUCE GOVERNOR IN 2015. The President General of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) and its National Secretary, Learned Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Albert Akpomudje have clearly re-echoed the desires of the union and its people to support an Urhobo candidate during the 2015 governorship election in Delta State, a project that has become a task that MUST BE DONE through the collective efforts of registered and eligible voters of Urhobo extraction and their Itsekiri, Isoko as well as other stakeholders in the Urhobo 2015 Agenda. Todays advertorial published in the Vanguard Newspaper at page 57 is to the effect that the Urhobo Governorship Project must strive and achieve its desired goals even though, according to UPU, Chief Ighoyota Amori, Prof Sam Oyovbaire, Hon Monday Igbuya, Hon. Evelyn Oboro and many other un-named Urhobo leaders sold out during the just concluded PDP governorship primaries that produced Distinguished Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the partys flag bearer. I read the stuff thrice and deeply reflected on the issues raised by the union on behalf of the Urhobo Nation and came to the understanding that the SINS committed by the accused persons should constitute a great worry to any right thinking Urhobo son or daughter. I am one of those who in the past took side with Delta North which was truncated at the last minute by the UPU-UDUAGHAN last minutes arrangement. What I fought against came back to stare at me in the face. The Obuh camp in which Governor Uduaghan (mentioned in the UPU todays advertorial) influenced to get OLOROGUN DAVID EDEVWIE on board as Urhobo PDP Candidate. I was left with no choice than to live with the realty and destiny of the Urhobo 2015 vision signed, sealed and delivered that wee hours of December 8, 2014. Reading through todays UPU publication, I saw myself in the same Accused Box because my writings and numerous articles against UVBIAMUGHE DECLARATION are prima facie evidence if I am to be taken to the UPU Customary Court of Justice. Yes, I will certainly be convicted as charged even if I engage the services of the best constitutional lawyer and senior advocate of Nigeria. The way things are, we must not fold our hands for URHOBO NATION to be brought to total ridicule, a laughing stock and object of mockery. There is the need to STAND FIRM to defend Urhobo Integrity and show true love and identity at times like these. The powers that be must be made to realise that our own leaders and people cannot be bought and or bribed to dent our collective image. We have no other place to call home than Delta Central and I feel extremely bad to see that our political interest has almost override our divine responsibility to protect and defend our existence as a people. In this wise, I tender sincere and unreserved apology to our great father, Chief Joe Omene, Chief Albert Akpomudje (SAN) and other Urhobo Leaders for the trauma and sleepless nights that my intellectual works caused them. My apology also goes to the Youth and Womens Wing of UPU and to the entire sons and daughters of the Urhobo Nation. One thing is clear, I remain a son of the soil haven been born into the families of OBAZENU-OJIJI of Kokori and ISOKO-AMIASAVBOKPARE families of Okpara Inland. I am a freeborn of Agbon Kingdom and it is natural and divine. Finally, the circumstances that truncated the Obuh project and brought in Olorogun David Edevwie ultimately reversed my die-hard stance against Uvbiamughe Declaration and as such I remain with the UPU-GOV UDUAGHAN deal for 2015. Let UPU come up with a candidate that is marketable and generally accepted so that new strategies are worked out to ensure that the UPU-UDUAGHAN deal becomes a reality in 2015. I offer myself to serve in any capacity as UPU and our Urhobo Leaders may deem fit in this project on the condition that we must strategise to WIN. The battle will be fierce but with URHOBO ALUTA CONTINUA, victory is SURE. Thanks to ANNABEL OGHENEGANRE, a prolific writer who spent sleepless nights writing persuasive articles forwards the realization of the UPU aspirations. She is a sad woman today because of some of the issues raised by UPU in todays advertorial. We exchanged messages few days ago and I look forward to working with her to ensure that the best of political communication is properly coordinated to sustain and project the image of UPU and the Urhobo Nation. This is the way to go and on UPU-GOV UDUAGANS deal we stand. Roll up your sleeves and lets get cracking. I invite all the best brains, the gallants and wealthy Urhobo sons and daughters to come out in full force to redeem our image in 2015. I so submit.
