Claims should surge in an offset ahead, so wed ignore this. Still, claims are below mid-Octs 362k. Continuing claims 2.876m in Nov 9 wk. - Oct PPI -0.2%, core +0.2% (+0.1616% unrounded) for +0.3% overall and +1.4% core YOY. Same story as in CPI: falling gas (-3.8%, -5.6% NSA) depressed energy -1.5% and cut overall pace. Food +0.8% as beef, breads, soft drinks rose. In core, cars +1.7% (+3.8% NSA, but incl new models as quality changes exceeded normal), malt bev +0.7% and pharma +0.3% boosted the total. Intermediate, crude PPI fell, so there are no signs of inflation in the pipeline.
