Nauru, a small island in the Pacific, has the highest proportion of the population being overweight with at a startling 94.5% Fast food is a lot cheaper than healthy food on the island and being large is also considered to be very attractive and is a symbol of wealth in Polynesian culture. Eight of the ten fattest nations are islands in the pacific. Meanwhile, Japan is the least fat nation with only 21% of the population being overweight.
