USDA’s Risk Management Agency has released more information on the North Dakota counties eligible for the new Supplemental Coverage Option for the 2015 crop year. The SCO covers spring wheat and durum, corn and barley for all North Dakota counties and covers soybeans in 33 counties. North Dakota Senator John Hoeven has encouraged RMA to cover all North Dakota counties for all commodities by the 2016 crop year. Senator Heidi Heitkamp says farmers can now find SCO availability maps, commodity fact sheets, and additional information at the RMA website, rma.usda.gov. USDA has also built a new online crop insurance decision tool to help producers better understand SCO. (prodwebnlb.rma.usda.gov/apps/CIDT/)
