Uh, wow. Insect populations have declined by 45% ostensibly because of human expansion. Think about that for a minute... The most prolific animals on the planet are being decimated by our activity. Our entire ecosystem relies on insects to operate, and were wiping them out by the trillions. What will this mean for our planet as this decline continues? And will we ever work to coexist with nature and stop the decline, or will we take another 50% off of what we have now, and then another and another until we have 10%, 5%, 1%... Or 0% left? When will we start working with nature rather than against it? Were not fighting for our lives on the savanna anymore...
