Uhhhh...what to say... Theres only two reasons people sign on to do this shit: foolish statism (spurred by delusional and/or megalomaniac thinking) -- and economic incentives such as easy guaranteed pay, college, medical/dental benefits, etc. Nothing else. Couple other observations though... 1. They are probably responding to some sniper potshot. 2. Irrelevant because why should they be there in the first place? 3. Foolish mentality. I do recognize the adrenaline as a catalyst for hyped up behavior, however. 4. The only thing that seems relevant about this to me is Iraq and the entire middle east doesnt seem as forgiving as Vietnam and east Asia. I highly doubt 1 or 2 generations will go by, and all that went on over there will be forgotten, regardless of how much democracy they put in place. It seems pretty obvious to me that revenge will be sought. Eg the last thousand years of tribal and national scuffles in the region. They clearly dont mess around. 5. I pray my kids dont suffer the consequences of the blow back when it hits. (Just read the comment at the source link. These people are pissed off at America.)
