Uhmm... This is a long status post, sorry... I am not an avid follower of The Voice Kids, but a lot of my friends are fans and are rooting for a certain contestant (whom I think deserved to win, based on some performances I have watched -- he didnt win), so I cast my vote for this contestant by sending a text message RIGHT AFTER it was announced on TV that voting was already on. After sending my text vote, I was waiting for an acknowledgment message that they had received my vote. When the hosts were already counting down to the closing of votes, still no acknowledgment. After around 25 minutes or so, this is what I received: The Voice: The Voice Kids voting is closed. P2.50/text. Call (02) 4158766 for help. Ok. That is something questionable. The contest voting was supposed to be real time, so there is no excuse for any network traffic here or technical problem of some sort. If you are conducting a competition where the winner is based on real-time votes, something like this MUST NOT happen. My brother and another friend experienced the same -- both voted for a non-winning contestant. Now, I cannot help but doubt about the legitimacy of this voting thing and am starting to believe that this (the results) was rigged all along. Did anyone here have the same experience? And if yes, who did you vote for? If you voted for the winner and still experienced the same thing, then I will be convinced that this is just some technical mishap, but if not, then shame on the people behind this show. And if it was indeed just a technical thing, next time, please make sure that everything is running smoothly -- technicalities and all -- coz many people seriously root for contestants, and it is heartbreaking for them to find out that they will not get to support their pambato just because of some technical error.
