We are deeply concerned about the Romanian government’s recent decision to kill street dogs in Romania and have reached out to government officials to ask that they adopt a humane and effective dog and disease management program. This approach includes mass spay/neuter/vaccination, veterinary training, and working with local governments to create customized programs that solve the problem of animal overpopulation. This is the approach that HSI has offered to Romania for many years, but with little response from their government.
