Understand this. YOU go Christmas shopping. Some people go Christmas Stealing. Nowhere near as festive, but fairly lucrative. File this under; here we go again. It started early this year and while I would never blame the victim, we need to do a couple of things to keep others from taking our stuff. Here it is; Take all valuables into your home, office, gym, warming hut, ice shack or igloo. These miscreants roam the area looking in your vehicle windows. When they see something they want, they smash the window and then they take it. I know, I have names for them too. I have been warned to use appropriate and pleasant terms for those who dwell amongst us. Last night we got hit fairly hard in the Odlin Road area. Tonight, we do not know where they will be. We are out on patrol but it is not difficult for them to avoid being seen as they are lower than low. Lock your car. Leave valuables at home or somewhere safe. If you cannot do this, place them in the trunk. If you cannot do that, hide them. Park cars in well lit areas. If you hear someone skulking around near your home or car, call us. We will come. We have a new crop of excellent and fast police officers. They will catch the neer-do-wells if the opportunity presents itself. Like tossing a ball to a Border Collie on caffeine. Just fun to watch. Move your stuff, lock your doors, listen for noises in the yard, call the cops. We will be here!
