Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders: Using Strengths and Interests to Minimize Challenges Description: More and more families, schools, and communities are facing the challenges associated with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Yet although autism is frequently "in the news," many misconceptions remain. Dr. Bolick will begin by presenting current information about ASD and possible causes. She will then describe a practical approach to intervention in home, school, and community. About the Presenter: Dr. Teresa Bolick is a licensed psychologist and board certified behavior analyst (BCBA-D) who has worked with individuals with autism and related challenges for over three decades. Dr. Bolick provides evaluation, treatment, and consultation for individuals with ASD and their families and schools. She has served on several committees to address the needs of individuals with ASD in New England. She is a current member of the NH Council on Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Bolick has written two books and many book chapters and journal articles.
