Unfortunate incident. Single seat Can Am. Speed160 mph. Max altitude 60 plus feet. Not a good landing unlike EFR who did a full loop landing on his wheels. Only 180 degrees for this car. Laundry list of items for the docs to fix. No heart beat, broken neck...C1, scratched spinal cord, bruised brain, broken shoulders and collar bones, broken ribs and split sternum. The good news is never had a headache since, won the first race back, Sebring 12 Hours and has an excuse when he forgets things.... The good old days of racing. By the way he takes full responsibility for the accident. After setting the fastest lap in qualifying Jim Hall asked if they should change anything. 1/4 inch off the front wing was the drivers reply.... fractions of an inch between life and almost death. Oh, and the ambulance blew a tire too.
